My name is Jakob Sigurðsson and I have been photographing birds in Iceland since the summer of 2002. I have also photographed some birds in the USA and Norway while travelling and around Stockholm where I have studied. All of the photographs here are taken with a Canon EOS 10D or 1DII digital camera. The lens I mostly use for bird photography is a Canon 500mm F4 IS lens. All birds shown in this gallery are wild birds and none are captive. Bird photography is my hobby and my aim is to increase both the quality of the photographs here and the number of species.

The bird photographs are organized into families. Press any of the links at the left to see the photographs or latest to see the latest additions to the gallery. Click on the or to see more information about the photograph. Use the to navigate quickly between the photographs. Click on to change font and image sizes.

I hope you enjoy the photographs.
